Pratapgarh is a present day city in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This whole city was constructed by Raja Pratap, an Awadhi ruler, in the 16th century. He constructed this grandeur after shifting his capital to Rampur. To commemorate and flaunt his wealth, the mighty ruler erected a fort and named it after himself.

Located on the banks of Rivers Sai and Ganges, Pratapgarh ensconces across 3,730 sq. km. It shares its borders with Sultanpur in north, Jaunpur in east, Fatehpur in west and Allahabad in south. The river Gomti separates Pratapgarh from Allahabad and Fatehpur. The city witnesses moderate temperatures amidst the calendar year. The average temperature in summers remains 35° C and the winters witness average temperature of 18° C throughout the year.
