The Chardham Yatra Places are a spiritual journey made by Hindus to four sacred sites located in the Garhwal Himalayas. The four places are Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. This pilgrimage starts from the holy town of Haridwar.
Day 1 : Reached At Haridwar Railway Station/ Bus Terminal Then Drive For Barkot (176 kms / 06 - 07 hrs drive) Uttarkashi
Once you arrive in Haridwar, a representative from Char-dham-yata.in India will meet you at the train station or bus stop. Our agent will meet you and provide you with tour details. Then start your tour from Haridwar to Balkot via Dehradun and Mussoorie. See Kempty Falls and other sights along the way. Then you will arrive at Barcot. Upon arrival, check into your pre-booked hotel. Rest overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : Today Go For Yamunotri Dham – Come Back Hotel (46 kms drive & 06 kms trek “one side”) Uttarkashi
The next morning, after breakfast, we left for Yamunotri. If you start from Balkot first, you will reach Jankichatti/Poruchatti and start the 6 km trek to Yamunotri from there. If you prefer, you can also ride a horse or pony to reach Yamunotri without much walking.
Yamunotri, nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, is a significant pilgrimage site and the source of the Yamuna River. For example, Yamunotri Temple, The main attraction, this ancient temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Pilgrims embark on a challenging trek to seek the blessings of the deity. Surya Kund, A hot water spring near the temple where devotees cook rice and potatoes to offer as prasad (holy food) to the deity.
The water here is scalding but is used to prepare the prasad.Divya Shila, A sacred rock pillar near the temple entrance where devotees offer prayers before entering the Yamunotri Temple. It is believed to be a representation of the deity. Janki Chatti which is a picturesque town and the starting point of the trek to Yamunotri. It serves as a base for pilgrims, providing facilities for accommodation and refreshment. Rest overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 : Next Day Leave Hotel - Visit Uttarkashi (100 kms / 05 hrs drive) Uttarkashi
On the third day, after breakfast, depart for Uttarkashi. Uttarkashi is 80 km from Barkot and takes 2-3 hours by car. Upon reaching Uttarkashi, check-in to your pre-booked hotel. After refreshing at your hotel, visit the famous Vishwanath Temple to seek divine blessings.
Places between Barkot and Uttarkashi offer a mix of spirituality, natural beauty, and cultural richness, making your journey not just a transition but an exploration of the Himalayan region's diverse facets. As you approach Uttarkashi, explore this town situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. Visit the Vishwanath Temple, Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Day 4 : Today View Gangotri Dham – Return Hotel (100 kms / 05 hrs each side) Uttarkashi
Next morning, after breakfast, we will start our journey from Uttarkashi to Gangotri. Gangotri is 100 km from Uttarkashi, a 2-3 hour drive. Along the way, you will see the majestic Himalayas, Harsil village and the beautiful Bhagirathi river. Then reach Gangotri temple. Gangotri temple is the abode of Goddess Ganga. Here you will witness Gangotri temple, Surya Kund, Bhagirath Shila, etc. Return to Uttarkashi in the evening.
Gangnani Hot spring: Gangnani is its natural hot water springs, known for their therapeutic properties. The springs emerge from the earth, enriched with minerals, believed to have healing effects on various ailments. The water is comfortably warm, providing a relaxing experience for those who seek its medicinal benefits. The belief in the sanctity of the hot springs adds a spiritual dimension to the overall experience.
Harshil: Harshil is renowned for its unparalleled scenic beauty, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, lush greenery, and the murmuring Bhagirathi River. The landscape is a canvas of rhododendron forests, apple orchards, and terraced fields, creating a mesmerizing vista at every turn. Harshil is famous for its apple orchards, contributing to the region's economy and offering a delightful sight during the blooming season.
Gangotri Temple: Gangotri Temple is situated in the picturesque town of Gangotri in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. According to Hindu mythology, the Ganges River descended to Earth from Lord Shiva's locks, and Gangotri is considered its origin. You must witness Ganga Aarti held at the temple is a mesmerizing ritual, with priests chanting hymns and offering prayers to the sacred river. Rest overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 : Depart Uttarkashi – Come In Hotel (197 kms / 08 – 09 hrs drive) Uttarkashi
The excursion to Guptkashi starts on his sixth day of travel following a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel. It takes 7-8 hours by driving to get from Uttarkashi to Guptkashi, which is 197 miles away. At Tiruwala, you can see the captivating Mandakini River as you head towards Gupurkashi. When you get to Guptkashi, check into the hotel that you have reserved in advance. Visit the Ardo Narishwar shrine in Guptkashi after getting some rest. Go back to the hotel and spend the night there.
Day 6 : Check Out Hotel – Search Kedarnath Dham - (30 kms by road & 20 kms Trek One Way) Uttarkashi
On the 6th day of your trip, after a delicious breakfast at your hotel, your tour to Kedarnath begins. You have to travel 30 km to Sonprayag and then cover a trekking route of 20 km to reach the destination of Kedarnath. First, from Sonprayag to Sonprayag Guptkashi. Basically, the hiking route starts from there. While trekking to Kedarnath, remember to carry all your personal items such as medicines, warm clothing, toiletries, and first aid.
Kedarnath is the residence of Lord Shiv. Here you can witness Lord Shiva's 12 famous Jyotirlings. Here you will explore Kedarnath Temple, Cholabari Valley, Golabari Glacier and more. You must also make few quick stops. Starting from Gaurikund is known for its thermal springs. It holds religious significance as it is believed to be the spot where Goddess Parvati meditated to win Lord Shiva as her husband. En route to Kedarnath, Rambara is a picturesque location known for its meadows and the Rambara Bridge. The trekking path offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Vasuki Tal, For the trekking enthusiasts, Vasuki Tal is a high-altitude lake located about 6 km from Kedarnath. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, it's a serene spot for those seeking tranquility.Chorabari Tal (Gandhi Sarovar), A high-altitude lake situated at the base of Kedarnath, Chorabari Tal is known for its crystal-clear waters and offers panoramic views of the majestic Himalayas.
Bhairon Temple, Perched at an altitude higher than Kedarnath, the Bhairon Temple provides a panoramic view of the entire Kedarnath valley. It's a trek uphill from Kedarnath. Gandhi Sarovar. Also known as Chorabari Tal, this glacial lake is named after Mahatma Gandhi. Pilgrims often take a dip in its icy waters before heading to Kedarnath. Enjoy an overnight stay at a hotel or camp in Kedarnath.

Day 7 : Morning View Kedarnath Temple - Return Hotel (20 kms trek / 30 kms trek) Uttarkashi
Wake up early in the morning before sunrise and after bathing, reach the temple at 4:45 am to celebrate the Abhishek of Kedarnath Shiva. Anyone can enter the Garbha Griha and touch the idol. You can also prostate while touching your head to a deity. After darshan and puja, leave the temple and return to the government. Camp/Lodge.
The route from Kedarnath to Sonprayag is surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes. Then start your 20 km round trip trek from Kedarnath to Sonprayag. Your car will wait at the Sonprayag parking lot and you will drive to your hotel. Overnight stay at Guptkashi (Nala).
Day 8 : Check Out Hotel – Badrinath (165 kms / 04 - 05 hrs) Chamoli
Proceed from Joshimath to Badrinath. Traveling from Guptkashi to Pandukeshwar takes one along a picturesque path that passes through Uttarakhand, India's Garhwal area. Spend some time exploring Guptkashi itself before embarking on your quest. See the historic Ardhanarishwar and Vishwanath temples. The starting point for the journey to Kedarnath is Guptkashi.
Meanwhile you must not miss chopta, Chopta is a haven for biodiversity, featuring dense forests of rhododendron, deodar, and pine trees. The region is home to a variety of wildlife, including musk deer, monal pheasants, and a myriad of bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers.
Joshimath: Joshimath acts as the gateway to the sacred shrine of Badrinath. Pilgrims often halt here before embarking on the challenging journey to Badrinath, seeking blessings for a safe pilgrimage. The town houses one of the four cardinal institutions established by Adi Shankaracharya, the spiritual leader who revitalized Hinduism.
Pandukeshwar: According to Hindu mythology, Pandukeshwar is believed to be the place where King Pandu, the father of the Pandavas from the Mahabharata, meditated and performed penance. The region is associated with the epic's tales, adding a layer of cultural and historical importance.

Day 9 : Today Check Out Hotel – View Badrinath Temple Then drive To Srinagar (164 kms / 07 hrs drive) Chamoli
Badrinath: One of the 'four dams', one of the country's most famous pilgrimage sites, stands at an altitude of 3,133 meters and is flanked by two mountain ranges, the Nar and Narayan ranges. Mount Neelkanth supports its peak. Great background. This revered site was once covered with wild berries. Therefore, this place was given the name Badrivan, which means berry forest.
Mana Village: The Mana Pass, situated near the village, is a historic trade route that connects India with Tibet. The Saraswati River, considered sacred in Hinduism, flows through Mana, adding to the village's spiritual importance. Mana has retained its cultural authenticity, with the local inhabitants practicing a simple way of life. The villagers are often engaged in agriculture and sheep farming. Vishnu Prayag: The confluence occurs at the point where the Alaknanda River, which originates from the confluence of Satopanth and Bhagirath Kharak glaciers, meets the Dhauliganga River, originating from the Niti Pass. This sacred merging of waters is believed to represent the union of Lord Vishnu's two incarnations: Lord Badrinath (Bhagirath) and Lord Vishnu (Alaknanda). Overnight at a hotel in Srinagar.
