Coonoor is a pristine hill station that nestles amid the murky Nilgiris. Situated in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, this hill station is considered as the second-largest hill town after Ooty. Hemmed in the exquisite Nilgiris, the hill station of Coonoor is located at a height of 6,070 feet above the sea level. Due to such an elevation, the terrains of this place are hilly and the temperature is defined as a tropical cool. During summers, the average mercury level touches 30°C, whereas, falls down below 14°C during winters. The monsoons are accompanied by the thunderstorms and the hill station receives an annual rainfall of 2000 mm.
