With such a great location, Kalpa's climate remains cool amid the year. The summer season lasts from June-September and is comparatively shorter than winters. The months of October-May are the long winter months. Kalpa is honored with emerald green surroundings and some waterfalls in the remote areas.

Apart from this, there are temples and monasteries that awake the inner peace. Kothi, a place 3 kms away from Reckong Peo, has a shrine dedicated to Chanadika Devi. The magnificent statue of the deity in the sanctum is made up of gold.
The major populace in Kalpa speaks Hindi and Kinnauri. The people are followers of Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism in Kalpa.
