Tirupur is a city located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the 5th largest city located in Tamil Nadu. The different dynasties like Chola and Nayak ruled over the land of Tirupur for a longer period of time. This city also has its connection with the times of Mahabharata. It is said that during the exile period, the meadows of Tirupur were used by Arjun's cattle for grazing.
With an elevation of 250 feet above the sea level, the land of Tirupur spreads over 80 sq. km. The city shares its boundaries with Erode in North, Karur in East, Dindigul in Southeast, Idukki in Southwest, and Coimbatore in West. The climate of this region is defined as the tropical monsoon in nature. It faces warm summers with an average temperature of 35°C and pleasant winters with an average temperature of 21°C. Tirupur receives a heavy rainfall during monsoons. The annual average rainfall received by it is 3670 mm.
