Almora is a cantonment and a town in Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand. This place has the earliest signs of human habilitation as per the excavations that date back to the period of Mahabharata. After the battle among the blood brothers, Almora became a part of extended empire of Hastinapur. Later on, Almora was ruled by Raja Kalyan Chand of Chand dynasty.
Snuggling in the laps of Kumaoni Himalayas, Almora is a serene place that envelops the beauty of nature. The rivers Kaushiki and Suyal flow through Almora. The climate of Almora is characterized as moderate. The summer season is not scorching & remains pleasant; however, June is the month when the mercury touches 30 degrees. On the other hand, winter season stays for a longer period of time and temperature ranges between 0-10 degrees.
